ISIL/Egypt

The International Standards Organizations (ISO) has developed an ISO 15511 in its first edition 2003 concerning identifying the libraries and related organizations. ENSTINET is producing the Union Catalogue of Periodicals in Egyptian and the related database Directory of Egyptian Research Libraries. ENSTINET is now representing the ISIL system through the cooperation between ENSTINET and the Danish National Library Authority which is the Registration Authority for the ISIL.

The purpose of this standard is to “define and promote the use of a set of standard identifiers for the unique identification of libraries and related organizations” (ISO 15511:2003(E).

The importance if the ISIL comes from the usage of a standard coding systems for the libraries in Union Lists, correspondence, identification through having a UNIQUE code for each library.

ENSTINET has been Chosen to be Index Copernicus Egyptian National Center. Index Copernicus international is a world-wide gateway to scientific information complimentary to Index Medicus /Medline and products provided by the institute of Scientific Information, Philadelphia. The main aim of applying Index Copernicus criteria is to improve the Quality of Scientific writing. ASRT has the lead in forming a committee for the evaluation and improvement of the quality of the Medical Journals.
